Animal experiences and wildlife days out in Fife

The beautiful Kingdom of Fife homes some of Scotland’s most beautiful wildlife and animals. It is also home to popular local attractions offering animal and wildlife experiences such as the Scottish Deer Centre and Fife Zoo. Animal and wildlife attractions

There are plenty of animal attractions and activities to visit in the St Andrews area. Delve into an underwater world at St Andrews Aquarium and see over 120 species of sea creatures and other animals. Enjoy bird and wildlife watching at Eden Estuary Nature Reserve. Meet deer, wolves, lynx, wildcats and more at the Scottish Deer Centre. And experience animal encounters and keeper talks at Fife Zoo.

Parks, gardens and farms

You can also explore Scottish wildlife at Craigtoun Country Park, where there are ducks and swans, squirrels, butterflies and more. Plus, learn more about the wildlife of the park in the Countryside Centre. Then, spot a variety of birds and insects at the beautiful St Andrews Botanic Garden.

Wildlife walks and trails

In our beautiful part of Scotland, there are many wonderful walks you can go on, where wildlife is abundant. For example, the Kingsbarns and Cambo Circuit, which takes in sandy beaches and woodland paths. Or the wonderful Tentsmuir Forest and Dunes Walk, where you may spot red squirrels, seals and many species of bird.

Isle of May boat trips

The Isle of May is a beautiful little island just off the coast, which is home to a wide variety of seabirds including a puffin colony. From the nearby village of Anstruther, you can take a wildlife boat trip on the May Princess (April to September only).
