Fife is home to over 45 clubs, some of which are the most historic and challenging golf courses in Scotland. Around 6 miles along the coast you will find Kingsbarns Golf Links, hailed as a links masterpiece when it opened in 2000. The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is played every year between Kingsbarns, the Old Course, and Carnoustie in the neighbouring County of Angus – yet another spectacular course – regularly used for the British Open, and within driving distance of your luxury break at Elderburn Lodges. Scotscraig Golf Club is also well worth a visit, located just along the coast from us in Tayport. Closer to St Andrews, Lundin Links is considered by Golf Monthly magazine to be one of the finest links courses in the UK. And it is regularly used for Open qualifying. At nearby Kingarrock Hickory Golf Club you can step back in time and play a round with vintage hickory sticks in the spirit of ‘Old’ Tom. Further along the coastline Balcomie Links – a Morris-designed course owned by one of the oldest clubs in the world, Crail Golfing Society – is a must for your diary.
