This is hallowed ground for golf fans. It’s the very home of golf, where the game has been played for over 600 years! Based in the centre of town, you can view it for free. There is usually a queue of people waiting to get their picture on the Swilcan Bridge, a historic landmark at the 18th hole.

Getting a tee time can be tricky, as demand is so high. However, you might be able to pre-book a tee time well in advance. If you have no luck there, you can enter the ballot, 48 hours before you wish to play. The ballot is suitable for groups of up to 4 to enter and there’s a required handicap of 36. Single golfers may enquire on the day of play to be joined to a smaller group.
