Beside the seaside, beside the sea!

Elie Harbour Beach in Fife is actually made up of two beaches. It is connected to Earlsferry Beach too. At low tide it offers nearly a mile of soft, golden sand to play on. It features sand dunes to explore and is backed by some adorable, colourful beach huts. A picture postcard beach! Because of the harbour, the beach is sheltered and not too windy. That makes it a great a great beach for families, especially with young children. At low tide, the kids can explore to see what creatures they can find in the rock pools and amongst the seaweed. There are lifeguards and first aid in the summer, as well as parking and disabled access. The facilities include some award-winning toilets, scooping gold in the 2019 National Loo Awards!

The views from the beach are wonderful. Clear water stretched out in front of you with people enjoying various watersports. The lovely village behind. And points of interest along the coastline. On the eastern headland there’s a white lighthouse, built to warn ships about hidden rocks on dark and stormy nights. There’s also the Lady’s Tower, built for Lady Anstruther in 1770. The bell in the tower was used when she wanted a dip. It rang to warn villagers on the beach to make themselves scarce! Elie Beach is a great spot for bridwatching too. And, if you want to give your legs a stretch, it is on the Fife Coastal Path.

We are sailing!

Elie Beach is famous, in Fife and beyond, for its watersports. And the sheltered nature of the bay means it is great for beginners too. You can hire canoes, windsurfers, pedal boats, paddle boards, dinghies, and wet suits if you need them.

Testimonials

We stayed in lodge 4 which was by far the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in, immaculate, spacious, so well equipped. The books, DVDs and board games were an extra touch and came in handy for some family time after exploring during the day. The surrounding area is beautiful and so many things to see and do nearby. West Sands beach is clean and beautiful and Bishop’s Wood and Craigtoun Country Park about a mile away are both worth a look. There are so many things we didn’t get chance to explore so I think we will be back. I think we will struggle to find any other accomodation as nice as this. Many thanks to Anne and the team.
